Whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping all animals safe and healthy.

A partner since 2008, Subaru has donated close to $14 million to the ASPCA and helped support nearly 1,000 pet adoption events, resulting in more than 11,500 adoptions to date.

Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.

Over a decade ago, Subaru became the first U.S. auto manufacturer to become zero-landfill, and now, in collaboration with the National Park Service and the National Parks Conservation Association, Subaru is leveraging that same environmental expertise to help the National Parks reach zero-landfill too.

In a perfect world, hunger would be history and hope would be commonplace. We believe a perfect world is possible.

Love Promise Stories from Mendenhall Subaru

Subaru and Mendenhall Subaru believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We uphold that belief through our Love Promise Community Commitment. Every month, we select inspiring stories from customers and partners from around our area who strive to support our collective commitment and feature them here

Share the love Micro-chipping Event  –  Matthew M

The staff at Mendenhall Subaru are highly appreciative to Subaru of America and the Gastineau Humane Society for allowing us to be a part of the solution for returning lost pets home. Back in 2013, only 10.4% of the cats that entered the animal shelter in Juneau, AK were reunited with their humans. Meaning that close to 90% of these cats didn't get to go home. This is almost entirely due to the inability to determine the ownership of an animal. So, on December 6th, 2014 we hosted an event at the dealership where visitors were provided coupons for free microchips for their pets. We want to make sure that every lost pet finds its way home!

Supporting Local Community  –  Bruce B

Mendenhall Subaru is honored to have been a contributor, with the help of Subaru of America, in The Whale Project for the last two years. As a result of 2014 Subaru Share the Love Event, The Whale Project received a donation of $6,639.00! The check was presented to Bruce Botelho at Mendenhall Subaru on March 19, 2015 by Subaru of America representatives and Steve Allwine.

Mendenhall Subaru Supports the Whale Project  –  Tim L

The Whale Project is a local community group's effort that started back in 2006 with the origin going back to the 1980's and the city former Mayor Bill Overstreet. The goal of the project is to place a life-scale bronze sculpture of a breaching humpback whale rising from an infinity pool located on the waterfront of Alaska's capital city. The sculpture is created by an internationally recognized artist and sculptor RT Skip Wallen and it celebrates the 50th anniversary of Alaska's statehood. Juneau's population is only about 32,000 people but it's a travel destination for nearly 1 million visitors from around the world each year. Mendenhall Subaru is honored to have been a contributor, with the help of Subaru of America, in The Whale Project for the last two years. After the 2013 Subaru Share the Love Event, The Whale project received a combined donation of $2,508.32: SOA donated $1,208.32 to the charity and Mendenhall Subaru dealership donated another $1,300. It looks like this year's donation might be even higher! According to The Whale Project website they are 93% funded and the sculpture will be on the waterfront for all to enjoy by the third quarter of 2015. http://juneauempire.com/neighbors/2014-04-06/whale-project-recieves-donation http://www.alaskawhaleproject.org/
